Sabine Hansen

Founder, Initiator & Member of the Board, Initiative Women into Leadership e.V.

Born 1970, Sabine Hansen studied business administration at WHU and graduated in 2002 with an MBA from Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management, Evanston/USA. As Director, located in the Düsseldorf Office, Sabine Hansen specializes in the Technology Industry and chairs the Kienbaum Female Desk. Her consulting offering covers the expansion, development and retention of top female leaders on a national and global level and across all functional areas. Prior to joining Kienbaum Sabine Hansen served as Managing Director at one of the major German owner-managed executive search consulting companies. Sabine Hansen joined the executive search business with Heidrick & Struggles in 2001, a global leading firm, where until her departure early 2012 – in the last phase of her engagement she acted as Partner-in-charge for the Düsseldorf site – she was responsible for top-notch assignments on board and management level. She had previously served as a member of the European Management Team at Novell for more than six years, where she was responsible for launching global marketing programs in Europe. She was in direct contact with the then-CEO and current Chairman of Google, Dr. Eric Schmidt, for whom she managed the partnership with the World Economic Forum. Since 2013 , Sabine Hansen is focusing increasingly on advising top female leaders on excellence in boards, and as a member of FidAR e.V. (Women to the boards) she engages in the sustainable membership of women on supervisory board and management board level. In 2014, she has been cited as a most influential executive recruiter by German business weekly Wirtschaftswoche. To foster stronger female participation on top management level, Sabine Hansen has founded the NPO organization Initiative Women into Leadership e.V. (www.iwil.eu) in November 2017 with more than 20 corporate and 40 personal members.
